Mathematics [MATH0103]

Introduction

This is a 3 credit hour module and our lecture in Ms. Ann See Peng. In Maths, we learn a lots of Maths formula and theories.

Project One: Calculate Surface Area and Volume

This Project is to train students method of calculating the area and volume and also by the model making progress.

Mathematical theories-
Pythagorus theorem (a2 + b2 = c2)
trigonometry
(sin= opposite/hypotenuse)
(cos= adjacent/hypotenuse)
(tan= opposite/adjacent)
surface area and volume formula's
Surface area for cylinder(2 pi r 2 + 2 pi r h)
Volume for cylinder(pi r 2 h)
Area of segment(½ × θ × r
Area of trapezium(½(a+b) × h)
Volume of triangular prism(1/2*length*width*height)

Reflection

From this assignment I gain knowledge on how to make an hypothesis, how to design a survey, collect data, analyse the results.
Furthermore trough this project I was able to gain knowledge about producing info graphic poster and helped me understand and applied fundamental mathematical principles; statistics
